Dumbbell Preacher Curl over Stability Ball
Kneeling behind a stability ball with the chest and upper arms draped over it, curl both dumbbells; the ball stands in for a preacher bench.
How to do it
Setup
Kneeling on the floor behind a stability ball, chest on its top, backs of the upper arms down its front, dumbbells hanging.
Steps
- Curl both bells toward the shoulders, arms pressed into the ball.
- Stop before the forearms pass vertical.
- Lower slowly without letting the ball roll.
Common mistakes
Ball rolling away as you curl: press the chest and the knees down to pin it. Dropping into the bottom: the stretched end is the risky part; slow down. Bells too heavy to hold the ball still: go lighter than on a bench.
Breathing
Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
