Dumbbell One-Arm Concentration Curl (On Stability Ball)

The concentration curl seated on a stability ball; the ball can roll, so the legs and the trunk have to hold the seat while the arm curls.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on a stability ball, feet wide and flat, leaning forward, elbow on the inner thigh, dumbbell hanging.

Steps

  1. Curl the bell toward the shoulder without rocking the ball.
  2. Keep the elbow braced on the thigh.
  3. Lower to a full hang; switch arms after the set.

Common mistakes

Feet close together on the ball: set them wide for a stable base. Ball rolling back as you curl: the hips stay still. Heavy bell that forces a lean: go lighter than on a bench.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
