Wide-Grip Pull-Up
Hands well outside the shoulders; the range shortens and the lats take the larger share.

How to do it
Setup
Hands well outside the shoulders, overhand, dead hang.
Steps
- Pull the chest toward the bar, blades leading.
- Elbows drive down and out.
- Lower to the full hang.
Common mistakes
Grip so wide the range dies: wide, not crucified. Chin-chasing: the chest rises, the chin follows. Kipping: strict; the width is hard enough.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale lowering.
