Squat Tuck Jump
The tuck jump started from a full squat every time; the deep start makes each take-off harder than a quick dip.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet shoulder-width, hands together at the chest.
Steps
- Sink into a full squat, chest up.
- Drive up and pull the knees to the chest, arms reaching up.
- Land soft on bent knees, stand, then sink again for the next rep.
Common mistakes
Half squats before the jump: the FULL squat is what sets this one apart; sit all the way down. Heels lifting in the bottom: whole feet on the floor before the drive. Dropping straight into the next squat off the landing: stand tall first, then sink under control.
Breathing
Exhale on the jump, inhale in the squat.
