Burpee Twist
A burpee finished with a jump that turns a quarter in the air, so you land facing a new direction.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet shoulder-width, clear space around you.
Steps
- Squat down and jump the feet back into a plank.
- Jump the feet back in under the hips.
- Jump up and turn a quarter in the air, arms overhead.
- Land soft, feet and knees facing the new way; turn the other way next time.
Common mistakes
Turning the shoulders and leaving the hips behind: the whole body turns together. Landing with the knees pointing another way than the feet: line them up before touchdown. Hips sagging as the feet kick back: brace the plank first.
Breathing
Exhale on each jump; steady rhythm.
