Side Kick Burpee
A burpee with two push-ups, one leg lifted out to the side at the bottom of each; then jump the feet in and leap up.
How to do it
Setup
Standing, feet shoulder-width, arms at the sides.
Steps
- Squat, plant the hands and jump the feet back to a plank.
- Lower into a push-up, lifting one leg out to the side at the bottom.
- Press up and repeat with the other leg.
- Jump the feet to the hands and leap up, arms overhead.
Common mistakes
Hips twisting as the leg lifts: keep the plank square; the leg moves, the hips do not. Sagging at the bottom of the push-up: brace before you lower. Landing the leap on straight legs: soft knees.
Breathing
Exhale on each push-up and on the leap.
