Squat Thrust, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Stand tall, feet shoulder-width.

Steps

  1. Squat down and put the hands on the floor under the shoulders.
  2. Jump the feet back to a plank, hips level.
  3. Jump them back in between the hands.
  4. Stand up tall; no push-up, no leap.

Common mistakes

Hips piking on the jump back: the plank is a straight line. Feet landing wide of the hands: aim them between the palms. Turning it into a burpee: the squat thrust is the two jumps and nothing else.

Breathing

Exhale on each jump; steady rhythm.
