Sitting Floor Leg Raise

Seated on the floor and leaning back on the hands, raise both straight legs and lower them without touching down.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the floor, hands behind the hips, torso leaned back a little, legs straight.

Steps

  1. Lift both straight legs as high as the back stays long.
  2. Pause at the top for a beat.
  3. Lower them to just above the floor.

Common mistakes

Rounding the back to get the legs higher: sit tall; height comes with practice. Bending the knees: straight legs from the hips. Resting the heels between reps: hover them just above the floor.

Breathing

Exhale as the legs rise, inhale as they lower.
