V-Up Hold

Rise into the top of a V-up and stay there, balanced on the seat with the legs and torso lifted and the arms reaching toward the feet.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the floor, legs together, arms reaching forward.

Steps

  1. Lean back and lift the straight legs into a V.
  2. Balance on the seat, chest lifted, arms long toward the shins.
  3. Hold for the time, then lower with control.

Common mistakes

Rounding into a slump: lift the chest, lengthen the spine. Legs sinking toward the floor: bend the knees a little rather than drop them. Holding the breath: short steady breaths.

Breathing

Short steady breaths; never held.
