Wheel Rollout with Wall Support
The ab wheel rollout aimed at a wall that stops the wheel at a set distance; the wall caps the range while the trunk learns to hold it.
How to do it
Setup
Kneeling facing a wall, the wheel under the shoulders, knees set at the distance where the wall should stop the roll.
Steps
- Roll forward until the wheel meets the wall.
- Hold the flat back for a beat at the wall.
- Pull the wheel back under the shoulders; move the knees back as the range grows.
Common mistakes
Crashing the wheel into the wall: roll in slowly so the stop is soft. Moving back from the wall too soon: add distance only when the back stays flat at the stop. Arching as you pull back: tuck the hips before the return.
Breathing
Inhale rolling out, exhale pulling back.
