Flexion Leg Sit-Up (Straight Arm)

One straight leg rises as the torso sits up and the straight arms reach its foot; the other knee stays bent, foot down.

How to do it

Setup

Lying flat, one knee bent with the foot down, the other leg long on the floor, arms straight overhead.

Steps

  1. Sit up and lift the straight leg at the same time.
  2. Reach both hands to the raised foot, the leg straight.
  3. Lower the leg and the torso together; switch legs after the set.

Common mistakes

Bending the raised knee to reach it: keep it straight and reach less far. Torso rising before the leg: the two meet halfway. Planted foot sliding away: keep that heel close and pressing down.

Breathing

Exhale on the fold, inhale lowering.
