Reverse Air Cycling
Lying with the shoulders curled up, the legs pedal backward in the air: each leg reaches out low, sweeps up straight, then bends back to the chest.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on the back, hands behind the head, shoulders curled up, one knee in and the other leg long.
Steps
- Reach the bent leg out low as the long leg sweeps up.
- Bend the high leg back in toward the chest.
- Keep the circles going with the shoulders still.
Common mistakes
Pedaling forward out of habit: the long leg rises, the bent one reaches out low. Twisting the shoulders side to side: they stay square; this is not the bicycle crunch. Lower back arching as the leg goes low: shorten the reach.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
