Hip Raise Bridge

From a forearm plank, push the hips up into an inverted V and lower them back into the line.

How to do it

Setup

Forearms under the shoulders, up on the toes, body straight from the head to the heels.

Steps

  1. Push the hips up toward the ceiling, the legs straight.
  2. Keep the forearms pressed down and the neck long.
  3. Lower the hips back into a straight plank without sagging.

Common mistakes

Sagging below the line on the way down: stop when the body is straight. Bending the knees to get the hips up: keep the legs long and lift with the abs. Shoulders creeping to the ears: push the forearms into the floor.

Breathing

Exhale lifting the hips, inhale lowering.
