Dumbbell Lying Oblique V-Up
A V-up with one dumbbell held straight up in one hand and the other hand braced on the floor: the torso turns onto that hand as the bell reaches for the feet.
How to do it
Setup
On your back, legs straight, one dumbbell held straight up over the chest, the other arm out on the floor.
Steps
- Lift the legs and the torso together, pushing off the floor hand.
- Reach the bell up toward the feet, the chest turning toward them.
- Lower both halves slowly; switch hands after the set.
Common mistakes
Bell arm bending: keep it straight above the shoulder. Legs dropping to the floor between reps: touch down lightly and lift again. Pushing up with the floor hand alone: it steadies; the abs lift.
Breathing
Exhale on the fold, inhale lowering.
