Plank Pike Slide with Towel
From a high plank with the feet on a towel, slide the straight legs in and lift the hips into a pike, then slide back out; the ball pike done on the floor.
How to do it
Setup
High plank on a smooth floor, hands under the shoulders, the toes on a folded towel.
Steps
- Slide the feet toward the hands, lifting the hips into an upside-down V.
- Keep the legs straight and the shoulders over the wrists.
- Slide the feet back out to a straight plank.
Common mistakes
Towel sticking on carpet: use a smooth floor or a slider. Knees bending to pull the feet in: keep the legs long and lift from the abs. Sagging as the feet slide out: keep the ribs down until the plank is straight again.
Breathing
Exhale on the pike, inhale returning.
