Lying Floor 6-Inch Hold

Lying on the back, hold both straight legs just off the floor, heels a hand's width up, while the lower back stays pressed down.

How to do it

Setup

On your back, legs straight and together, hands under the hips or by the sides.

Steps

  1. Press the lower back into the floor.
  2. Lift the heels a hand's width off the floor and hold.
  3. Lower the legs when the back starts to lift.

Common mistakes

Lower back arching off the floor: raise the legs a little higher or end the hold. Knees bending as it burns: legs long, toes pointed. Holding the breath: short steady breaths.

Breathing

Short steady breaths; never held.
