Dumbbell Seated Military Hold Alternate Leg Raise on Floor
Seated on the floor with dumbbells held overhead, raise one straight leg at a time; the trunk stays upright under the weights.
How to do it
Setup
Seated tall on the floor, legs straight in front, dumbbells pressed overhead.
Steps
- Lift one straight leg a hand's width off the floor.
- Lower it and lift the other, the bells steady overhead.
- Keep alternating for the time without leaning back.
Common mistakes
Leaning back to lift the leg: sit tall; a smaller lift is fine. Bells drifting forward: stack them over the shoulders. Bending the working knee: lift the leg straight from the hip.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
