Leg Front Kick
Standing, one arm sweeps up overhead and down as the opposite straight leg kicks up in front, the hand meeting the foot at hip height.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, feet hip-width, arms by the sides.
Steps
- Sweep one arm out and up overhead.
- Kick the opposite straight leg up in front and bring the hand down to touch the foot.
- Lower the leg under control and switch sides.
Common mistakes
Rounding down to reach the foot: kick the foot up to the hand instead. Kicking higher than the hamstrings allow: hip height is enough. Leaning back on the standing leg: stay tall over it.
Breathing
Exhale on each kick.
