Seated Sky Look
Seated cross-legged with the hands on the floor behind the hips, the chest lifts and the head tips back to look up, held as a stretch for the front of the chest.
How to do it
Setup
Seated cross-legged on the floor, hands flat behind the hips, fingers pointing back, arms straight.
Steps
- Lift the chest up and forward between the arms.
- Tip the head back gently to look at the ceiling.
- Hold and breathe; time it.
Common mistakes
Dropping the head back hard: let it follow the chest, no further than is comfortable. Shoulders creeping to the ears: press the hands down and keep the neck long. Collapsing onto the hands: the chest lifts, the arms only support.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
