Seated Commando Pull-Up

The commando pull-up from a seat on the floor under a low bar, legs out in front; the heels carry part of the weight, so it is the lightest of the commando versions.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the floor side-on under a low bar, legs long, hands close together one in front of the other, arms straight.

Steps

  1. Pull up so the head passes one side of the bar, heels on the floor.
  2. Lower until the arms are straight again.
  3. Pull the head to the other side next.

Common mistakes

Bending the knees to push up: the legs stay long and passive. Bar so low the arms cannot straighten: raise it a notch. Always the same side: alternate every rep.

Breathing

Exhale on the pull, inhale lowering.
