Seated Chin-Up
The chin-up from sitting under a low bar, legs straight and heels on the floor; the planted heels take part of the body's weight.
How to do it
Setup
Seated under a low bar, legs straight in front, underhand grip shoulder-width, arms straight.
Steps
- Lift the hips and pull the chest to the bar.
- Squeeze the blades with the chin over the bar.
- Lower until the arms are long again.
Common mistakes
Bending the knees to push up: the legs stay straight, the arms pull. Hips staying on the floor as the chest rises: lift the whole body in one line. Stopping with the chin below the bar: finish over it.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale lowering.
