Seated Pull-Up
Seated on the floor under a bar in a rack with the legs straight, pull the chest up to the bar with the heels as the pivot; a steep row that rehearses the pull-up.
How to do it
Setup
Seated under a bar set just within reach of straight arms, legs long with the heels down, overhand grip shoulder-width.
Steps
- Pull the chest toward the bar, hips lifting off the floor.
- Keep the body in one line from heels to head at the top.
- Lower until the arms are straight and the hips touch down.
Common mistakes
Hips staying on the floor while the arms bend: lift the whole body as one line. Pushing through the heels: they only pivot. Pulling the head forward to the bar: the chest rises to it.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
