Ring High Row
The ring row pulled high to the face with the elbows wide; the rear shoulders and the mid-back do more than in a row to the ribs.
How to do it
Setup
Rings at chest height, heels on the floor, body leaning back in one line, arms long.
Steps
- Pull the rings to the face, elbows out at shoulder height.
- Squeeze the blades with the body still in line.
- Lower back to long arms with control.
Common mistakes
Hips sagging as the pull gets hard: squeeze the glutes; walk the feet back. Elbows dropping to the ribs: that is the ordinary ring row. Head craning to the rings: bring the rings to the face.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
