Reverse Plank

Face up, hands under the shoulders and heels on the floor: hold a straight line from heels to head.

Reverse Plank, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Face up, hands under the shoulders, fingers toward the feet, heels on the floor.

Steps

  1. Press the hips up into one straight line.
  2. Squeeze the glutes; chest open.
  3. Hold; timed, not counted.

Common mistakes

Hips sagging: the line breaks first there; squeeze harder. Head dropping back hard: neutral or a soft gaze up. Shoulders shrugging: press the floor away.

Breathing

Steady throughout.
