Crab Twist Toe Touch
From a crab position with the hips lifted, kick one foot up and reach the opposite hand across to touch it, turning the torso; sides alternate.
How to do it
Setup
Seated with the feet flat and the hands on the floor behind the hips, fingers pointing toward the body, hips lifted.
Steps
- Kick one straight leg up while the opposite hand leaves the floor.
- Reach the hand across to the toes, turning the chest toward the leg.
- Set the hand and the foot down and switch sides.
Common mistakes
Hips dropping to the floor as you reach: keep them lifted with the supporting foot. Supporting hand turned out: point the fingers toward the body, which is easier on the wrist and the shoulder. Swinging the leg too high to reach: touch the shin instead.
Breathing
Exhale on each reach, inhale returning.
