Lying Straight Leg Marches
Lying on the back, raise one straight leg and lower it to the floor, then the other, in an unbroken march.
How to do it
Setup
Flat on the back, palms down by the hips, both heels on the floor.
Steps
- Raise one straight leg as high as it goes.
- Lower it to the floor as the other leg starts up.
- Keep marching, one leg after the other, the lower back down.
Common mistakes
Dropping the leg onto the floor: set it down under control. Knees bending to lift higher: keep both legs long. Hips rolling with each lift: keep the pelvis flat and still.
Breathing
Exhale on each lift, inhale lowering.
