Leg Lift to Chest Front Plank

In a forearm plank, lift one straight leg high behind you, then bring that knee under you toward the chest; switch legs.

How to do it

Setup

Forearm plank, elbows under the shoulders, body in one line.

Steps

  1. Lift one straight leg up behind you.
  2. Bring the same knee in under the chest.
  3. Finish the reps, then switch legs.

Common mistakes

Arching the lower back to lift the leg higher: the glute lifts it; the back stays flat. Hips twisting open as the leg rises: keep both hips facing the floor. Knee drive stopping short: bring it all the way under the chest.

Breathing

Exhale on each knee drive.
