Front Plank with Arm and Leg Lift
The forearm plank with the opposite arm and leg lifted together; on two points of support the trunk works hard to stay square.
How to do it
Setup
On the forearms and toes, feet hip-width, body one straight line.
Steps
- Lift one arm forward and the OPPOSITE leg back together.
- Hold both level with the body for a beat.
- Lower them and lift the other pair.
Common mistakes
Lifting the arm and leg of one side: the plank tips over; opposite limbs only. Lower back arching as the leg rises: stop it at hip height. Hips twisting open: square them before each lift.
Breathing
Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
