Plank Jack

In a plank, jump the feet wide and back together like a jumping jack while the hips stay level.

Plank Jack, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

High plank, hands under the shoulders, body one rigid line from head to heels.

Steps

  1. Jump the feet wide.
  2. Jump them back together.
  3. Keep the hips level and the shoulders over the hands.

Common mistakes

Hips bouncing up with the jump: the plank rules; brace harder. Shoulders drifting back behind the hands: stay stacked. Feet landing heavy: quick, light contacts.

Breathing

Exhale on every jump; keep the rhythm.
