Jack Plank on Medicine Ball

The plank jack with both hands on one medicine ball; the small, rolling base makes the shoulders and the trunk fight harder for the line.

How to do it

Setup

High plank with both hands on the ball under the chest, feet together, body in one line.

Steps

  1. Jump the feet apart, the hands still on the ball.
  2. Land them back together softly.
  3. Keep the ball still and the shoulders over it.

Common mistakes

Ball rolling under the hands: slow the jumps until it stays put. Hips bouncing as the feet land: brace the trunk harder. Shoulders drifting behind the ball: keep them stacked over the hands.

Breathing

Exhale on every jump; keep the rhythm.
