Kneeling Lat Stretch

On all fours, slide one hand forward along the floor and let the chest sink; a one-arm puppy that lengthens that side's lat.

How to do it

Setup

On all fours, hands under the shoulders, knees under the hips, toes tucked.

Steps

  1. Slide one hand forward along the floor until the arm is long.
  2. Lower the chest toward the floor, the hips staying over the knees.
  3. Hold and breathe, then walk the hand back and switch sides.

Common mistakes

Seat sinking to the heels: hold the hips high over the knees. Supporting elbow buckling: press the floor away with that hand. Lower back sagging: draw the belly in.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
