Inverted Chin Curl with Bent Knee between Chairs
A bar laid across the backs of two chairs; lying under it with the knees bent and the feet flat, curl the body up with an underhand grip until the head nears the bar.
How to do it
Setup
Two sturdy chairs set apart with a bar across their backs, lying under it, knees bent, feet flat, underhand grip at shoulder width.
Steps
- Curl the body up until the head nears the bar.
- Keep the hips up in line with the knees and shoulders.
- Let yourself down slowly until the arms are straight.
Common mistakes
Chairs that slide or tip: heavy chairs, set firmly, and test the bar with part of your weight first. Hips sagging to the floor: hold the line from the knees to the shoulders. Pulling the chest to the bar: that is a row; the head goes to the bar.
Breathing
Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
