EZ-Bar Standing Preacher Curl

The EZ-bar preacher curl done standing, leaning over the pad of a preacher bench instead of sitting at it; the legs brace and the torso rests on the pad.

How to do it

Setup

Standing behind a preacher bench, chest over the top of the pad, upper arms down its face, EZ-bar held underhand.

Steps

  1. Curl the bar up toward the forehead.
  2. Keep the chest on the pad and the knees soft.
  3. Lower until the arms are nearly straight down the pad.

Common mistakes

Standing up out of the lean to finish: stay over the pad. Locking the knees and hanging on the lower back: soften them and brace. Letting the bar run away at the bottom: slow the last part of every rep.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
