High Knee Walk

Walk forward, driving each knee up to hip height with the opposite arm; the high knees slowed to a walk.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, a clear lane ahead, arms bent.

Steps

  1. Step forward and drive the back knee up to hip height.
  2. Swing the opposite arm forward with it.
  3. Set the foot down under the hips and lift the other knee.

Common mistakes

Rounding forward to meet the knee: the knee comes up to a tall chest. Knees stopping low: hip height every step. Rushing the steps: slow and tall is the point.

Breathing

Steady with the steps.
