High Knee Tap
March on the spot lifting each knee to tap a hand held flat at hip height; no hop, just a tall, steady lift.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, palms held flat in front of the hips.
Steps
- Lift one knee to tap the palm above it.
- Lower the foot and lift the other knee.
- Keep the palms at the same height; the knees come up to them.
Common mistakes
Lowering the hands to meet the knees: the knee rises to the palm. Leaning back as the knee lifts: stay stacked over the standing foot. Slapping the foot down: set it down quietly.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
