Crossed Arms Front Leg Kick
Standing with the arms folded across the chest, kick one straight leg up in front to about hip height; alternate legs.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, feet hip-width, arms folded across the chest.
Steps
- Swing one straight leg up in front.
- Lower it under control to the floor.
- Kick the other leg; keep the standing knee soft.
Common mistakes
Rounding the back to lift the leg higher: the height comes from the hip; keep the chest tall. Letting the leg drop: lower it with control. Bending the kicking knee: the leg stays long.
Breathing
Exhale on each kick.
