Hanging Side Lean
Hanging from a bar, the straight legs swing together out to one side, the trunk bending sideways, then to the other side.
How to do it
Setup
Dead hang from a bar, hands shoulder-width, legs straight and together.
Steps
- Carry both legs out to one side, bending at the waist.
- Bring them back under the bar without swinging.
- Carry them out to the other side.
Common mistakes
Swinging the whole body like a pendulum: move from the waist. Bending the knees to shorten the lever: keep them straight. Shoulders relaxing into a dead hang: keep them engaged.
Breathing
Exhale on the lean, inhale returning.
