Band Twist (Up-Down)

The band chop: from an anchor high on a rack, the arms bring the handle down across the body to the far hip as the trunk turns.

How to do it

Setup

Standing side-on to a band anchored high, feet wide, both hands on the handle above the near shoulder.

Steps

  1. Pull the handle down and across toward the far hip.
  2. Turn the chest and let the back foot pivot.
  3. Let the arms rise back to the anchor under control.

Common mistakes

Chopping with the arms alone: the trunk turn leads. Folding forward at the bottom: finish tall, turned, not bent. Letting the band yank the arms up: control the return.

Breathing

Exhale on the chop, inhale returning.
