Front Lever Reps
Rows in the front lever on gymnastic rings: the body stays horizontal, face up, and is pulled up to the rings and lowered, all without breaking the line.
How to do it
Setup
Hanging from rings with the body held horizontal and face up in the front lever, arms straight.
Steps
- Pull the body up toward the rings, keeping it horizontal.
- Hold the top for a beat, the chest near the rings.
- Lower back to straight arms without letting the hips drop.
Common mistakes
Hips dropping below the line of the body: shorten the lever by tucking the knees until the straight body holds. Piking at the hips to reach the rings: the whole body rises as one line. Kicking or swinging into the pull: start each rep from a still lever.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
