Dumbbell Renegade Row on Stability Ball

A one-arm renegade row with the free hand braced on a stability ball, which makes the plank wobble and the trunk work harder.

How to do it

Setup

Plank with one hand on top of a stability ball and the other on a dumbbell on the floor, feet wide.

Steps

  1. Row the bell to the hip, the elbow close to the ribs.
  2. Hold the ball still with the braced hand as you pull.
  3. Lower the bell to the floor; switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Ball rolling away under the hand: press straight down into it and slow the row. Hips twisting toward the rowing arm: widen the feet and brace. Rowing with a shrug: the elbow goes back, not the shoulder up.

Breathing

Exhale on the row, inhale lowering.
