Battling Ropes Power Slam
Both ropes lifted overhead together and slammed into the floor as hard as possible, the knees bending into each slam; power rather than rhythm.
How to do it
Setup
Facing the anchor, feet shoulder-width, a rope end in each hand, knees soft.
Steps
- Lift both ropes together to above the head.
- Slam them into the floor, bending the knees as the arms drive down.
- Rise and lift again at once; log the time.
Common mistakes
Slamming with the arms alone: the knees and hips drive each slam. Rounding the back into the slam: hinge with a flat back. Letting the ropes go slack between slams: keep the reps fast and connected.
Breathing
Sharp exhale on the slam.
