Chest-to-Bar Pull-Up
A pull-up that ends with the chest touching the bar below the collarbone, strict or kipping; the higher finish is the whole point.

How to do it
Setup
Hang from the bar, overhand grip a little wider than shoulders, arms straight, shoulders active.
Steps
- Start the pull by driving the shoulder blades down.
- Pull until the chest touches the bar below the collarbone, elbows driven down and back.
- Lower to straight arms with control.
Common mistakes
Chin over and no further: the standard is the chest on the bar; pull higher or kip. Head thrown back to reach: the chest rises to the bar, not the face. Losing the shoulder blades at the top: keep them down and back through the touch.
Breathing
Exhale on the pull, inhale on the way down.
