Wrist Ulnar Deviator and Extensor Stretch

Kneeling on the backs of the hands with the fingers turned out to the sides, the hips sink back to stretch the wrist extensors and the little-finger side; held for time.

How to do it

Setup

Kneeling, the backs of the hands on the floor in front of the knees, wrists bent, fingers turned out to the sides, elbows straight.

Steps

  1. Rest the flat backs of the hands down, fingers pointing out to the sides.
  2. Ease back toward the heels until the backs of the forearms stretch.
  3. Hold and breathe, then lean forward over the hands to come out.

Common mistakes

Weight on the knuckles: the flat backs of the hands carry it; sit back less. Bouncing toward the heels: slow in, still hold. Pressing on through a sore wrist: back off at the first sharp pain.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
