Finger Extensor Stretch
Palm up with the elbow bent, the wrist and the fingers curl toward the forearm and the other hand presses them further, stretching the back of the forearm; held for time.
How to do it
Setup
Sitting or standing tall, one elbow bent to about 90°, palm up, the wrist curled and the fingers bent toward the forearm.
Steps
- Lay the other hand over the curled fingers.
- Press them gently toward the forearm until the back of the forearm stretches.
- Hold and breathe, then switch arms.
Common mistakes
Fingers opening under the pressure: keep them curled, the curl is the stretch. Shoulder hitching up: keep it down and the elbow by the side. Pressing into joint pain: ease off to a steady pull.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
