Weighted Plate Standing Hands Torsion

Standing with a plate held upright in front by its rim, both hands turn it back and forth like a steering wheel, the forearms doing the twisting.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, a plate held upright in front of the hips by its top rim in both hands, elbows bent.

Steps

  1. Turn the plate one way like a wheel, the wrists rotating.
  2. Turn it back the other way.
  3. Keep the elbows at the sides and the grip tight.

Common mistakes

Turning with the shoulders and torso: only the forearms rotate. Letting the plate slip in the fingers: pinch the rim hard. Rushing the turns: slow and even both ways.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
