Fingers Down Forearm Stretch

One arm straight out at shoulder height, the hand bent down with the palm facing away, the other hand drawing the fingers back toward you; the inside of the forearm stretches.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, one arm straight in front at shoulder height, palm up, the hand then bent down so the fingers point to the floor.

Steps

  1. Take the fingers in the other hand.
  2. Draw them gently back toward you until the inside of the forearm stretches.
  3. Hold and breathe, then switch arms.

Common mistakes

Softening the elbow as the hand pulls: a straight elbow carries the stretch up the forearm. Yanking the fingers: ease them back slowly. Shoulder creeping up with the arm: set it down and keep it there.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
