Wrist Radial Deviator and Flexor Stretch

The kneeling wrist flexor stretch with the fingers turned out to the sides instead of back, which adds the thumb side of the forearm; held for time.

How to do it

Setup

Kneeling, palms flat on the floor in front of the knees, fingers turned out to the sides, elbows straight.

Steps

  1. Turn the hands until the fingers point straight out to the sides.
  2. Lower the hips toward the heels until the thumb side of the inner forearm stretches.
  3. Hold and breathe, then lean forward over the hands to come out.

Common mistakes

Fingers drifting back toward the knees: keep them pointing out, or it becomes the plain flexor stretch. Palms peeling off the floor: sit back less, whole hand down. Leaning into pain on the thumb side: stop at a firm stretch.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
