Finger Flexor Stretch

With the elbow bent and the fingers pointing up, the other hand presses the fingers back toward the forearm, stretching the palm side of the forearm; held for time.

How to do it

Setup

Sitting or standing tall, one elbow bent to about 90°, the wrist bent back, fingers pointing up and the palm facing away.

Steps

  1. Lay the other palm across the raised fingers.
  2. Press the fingers back toward the elbow until the inner forearm stretches.
  3. Hold and breathe, then switch arms.

Common mistakes

Pushing on the fingertips only: press across the whole fingers so no single joint takes it. Letting the elbow drift straight: keep it bent so the stretch stays in the fingers. Forcing a painful bend: stop at a firm, even pull.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
