Weighted Front Raise Hold
A plate held out in front at shoulder height on straight arms for time: the front raise stopped at its hardest point.
How to do it
Setup
Standing tall, feet hip-width, a plate gripped at its sides, arms straight in front at shoulder height.
Steps
- Hold the plate level with the shoulders, arms straight.
- Keep the ribs down and the shoulders away from the ears.
- Lower the plate when the arms start to drop; time it.
Common mistakes
Leaning back to hold the plate up: stay upright; the shoulders hold it. Arms sinking below shoulder height: end the set there. Shrugging as it gets hard: shoulders down, neck long.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
