Kettlebell Half-Kneeling One-Arm Bottoms-Up Press
The bottoms-up press from half-kneeling, the knee under the pressing arm down; the stance locks the hips while the grip keeps the bell upright.
How to do it
Setup
Half-kneeling, the knee on the pressing side down, the other foot in front, the bell bottom up at the shoulder.
Steps
- Squeeze the handle hard and tighten the down leg's glute.
- Press the bell slowly to a straight arm, bottom still up.
- Lower it with control; after the set, switch the arm and the knee.
Common mistakes
Bell tipping at lockout: stack it straight over the shoulder, knuckles up. Torso leaning away from the press: stay tall over the down knee. Wrist bending back: a straight wrist is what balances the bell.
Breathing
Steady; exhale through the press.
